twenty-five Do Good Things.

Nicole Karalekas and Kelsey Bernert Coffrin of W+K portland Skyped with our Creative Strategist class today and had some awesome advice. They were asked by one of my classmates how they utilize ads in online show streaming, and replied that they definitely utilize it, but it’s a fragile area. Kelsey said to make sure you’re not annoying watchers. No one wants to watch a minute long ad before watching their 15 minute show. This brings me back to what Rob Baird of Mother said about only making things that you would want to watch.

When a brand creates ads that people actually want to watch and does good things for the community, it’s unstoppable. That is what ad agencies should be turning into—doing good things agencies. Brand Karma is the name of the game.

Right now, strategic is this:

Don’t be boring. Don’t be annoying. Don’t be selfish.

Be funny. Be innovative. Be exciting.

Thanks to all the speakers who have popped into Deb Morrison’s Creative Strategy class, the advice is incredible!
