twenty-seven Teams Groups Squads

Group projects can be fun and awesome with lots of collaboration, or really horrible painful spans of time. I’m on two groups right now, One for J456, doing an Old Spice and Axe comparison, and another one for HC431, producing a documentary for the Conflict Dispute Resolution master’s degree program.

Old Spice Axe is going great, Here’s why:
The team is excited.
We’re all busy, but we care about eachother’s opinions.
Everyone participates equally
We have our strengths and weeknesses, so we are playing to those
We have brilliant ideas!

The documentary group is not going so well.
I am excited about it, so the project should end up ok, but
no one comes to group meetings, even when they commit
People aren’t excited
No one supports each other or takes initiative
Members push responsibility on each other.
It’s awful!

I love working in teams, that’s one of the reasons I’m psyched for advertising, but I hate when they don’t work.
