forty-two Cars

November 27, 2010 § Leave a comment

I’ve noticed 3 car companies, Toyota, Ford, and Chevy, with new campaigns recently.

Toyota is doing “Ideas for Good,” asking for consumer ideas for ways other than cars that they could use Toyota technology.

Ford is all about the engineers behind their F150. They are still “Built Ford Tough,” but the style is very visually appealing, showing engines and the people that make Ford special.

Chevy’s new slogan is, “Chevy runs deep,” getting in touch with the history of Chevy in America.

I really enjoy watching the Ford commercials, they look really cool and focus on the engine, the heart of the car. “Chevy runs deep” is pretty weird. When I first heard it, I thought it was nuts, a little dirty, and just plain wouldn’t work, but, after seeing the commercial when I least expected it, it sort of worked. I’m interested to see how it does in the long run. Toyota is really trying to do some community service after the public service fiasco last year, and this seems to be a good way to do it. My only complaint is that the ads play on repeat during online shows and get incredibly annoying.
